Naturally, as a free game, there are things you can buy like coins, but the game is fully playable without having to buy anything with cash if you don’t want to, so while the freemium elements are there are easily accessible, it’s still a very fun playable game whether you actually buy anything or not.Īnd, of course, there’s that new twist on the traditional format of Runner games by challenging players to complete levels and progress through episodes set within iconic Looney Tunes landscapes. Playing the game is a ton of fun - it has all the elements of traditional running games, but is set in the Looney Tunes universe, with levels to reach and many different characters to unlock and play. It was an idea Zynga’s people had thought about for the future, so who knows, we might see it, but we already have that to a certain degree by the fact the game starts and ends with a skippable cartoon sequence that is new cartoon content anyway. Indeed, it made me wonder (and ask) whether future versions could feature longer cartoons as rewards with more mini episodes that didn’t involve running, but were simply new cartoon content to enjoy - or even digital recreations of famous cartoon classics, but within the app.
Here’s the trailer of the game in action: It brought the cartoons back to life, too, then put you right into the action as the character you’re playing, with the level ending and you watching a short cartoon end-sequence. Well, Looney Tunes Dash does all of that while bringing to life the familiar Looney Tunes universe of characters, with all the favourites including Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Tweety, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian and many more.Įach level starts off with a short introductory cartoon setting up the level you’re playing, with examples being Elmer Fudd trying to shoot Bugs Bunny, the Road Runner running away from Coyote E. To explain this a bit further, one of the things that was explained to me in the pre-lance demo as we explored the game and gameplay was that users said they wanted was running games had a sense of progression with levels that ended, along with fun new game elements and something new and surprising. There hasn’t been a great deal of variation in these games, but Zynga’s new Looney Tunes Dash changes all that in a fun new way.
